Gemstones and Healing
Posted on October 30th, 2009 No commentsHow are gemstones healing?
Last week we learned about your chakra system, a swirling vortex of energy within your body. Energy. Everything is made of energy, from trees and water to soil and rocks. The new physics theory is proving that while the mind “sees” things as solids, everything is full of space and is not solid at all. Things vibrate at different rates of frequency, including gemstones and humans.
Dependent on the color of the gemstone, it vibrates at a frequency in alignment with different chakras. Red gemstones resonate with the root chakra. Orange gemstones resonate with the sacral chakra, and so on. Some gemstones are multi-colored and affect more than one chakra.
As the gemstone resonates with your chakra, it is healing because it clears imbalances and blockages within that chakra. This is a subtle effect. If you are a sensitive person, you will feel the effects of the gemstone on your chakra system. You may notice a “light” feeling or a tingling or warmth in the chakra area.
If gemstone therapy is new to you then it will probably take you longer to notice the effects. I recommend to continue the chakra meditation posted last week and to maintain an open mind around gemstone healing to enhance your ability to perceive healing.

Hurdles for mathematical thinking
Posted on October 30th, 2009 No commentsFrom my years as both a math professor and observer of people, I’ve come up with a list of hurdles for mathematical thinking. These are what I believe to be the essential set of skills a person must have if they want to understand and do mathematics. They don’t need to have all these skills to use mathematics but would need most of them if they want to progress far in mathematics. Identifying what sorts of conceptual barriers people may have could help in improving mathematics education.
I’ll first give the list and then explain what I mean by them.
1. Context dependent rules
2. Equivalence classes
3. Limits and infinitesimals
4. Formal logic
5. Abstraction

Once the box is set up, the person can control their home video box and view it from anywhere in the world connected by broadband internet.

Dawkins On The Anthropic Principle
Posted on October 30th, 2009 No commentsInteresting remarks on the possible implications of Darwinian thinking for thinking in physics theory. Is it possible that there is natural selection among many universes?
